Itajaí is a port city in the South Region of Brazil, located at the mouth of the Itajaí-Ashu River in the state of Santa Catarina, 600 km south of Sao Paulo and 15 km north of Balneário-Camborio. Itajai is the largest seaport in Santa Catarina and the second largest in Brazil, as well as the main export port for almost all goods produced in Santa Catarina. The city is home to the headquarters of the country’s largest fishing port. Itajai has a ferry connection with the neighboring town of Navegantes, located on the opposite side of the Itajai-Ashu River. Itajai is a popular tourist destination in the South Region of Brazil well-know its beautiful sandy beaches, among which Molhe Beach, Atalaia Beach, Praia de Cabeçudas, Morcego Beach, Amores Beach, Geremias Beach. The city’s main attraction is the Parrot’s Beak, representing a 6-meter rock in the shape of a parrot.
