The Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory is located in 80 km east of La Serena and in 100 km south of the La Silla Observatory. This is a complex of astronomical telescopes and instruments, the main of which is the 4.1-meter SOAR Telescope and the 4-meter Victor M. Blanco Telescope.
