El Gouna is a popular resort town on Red Sea coast in 25 km to north of Hurghada. It is very similar to Venice, all the hotels here are located on the islands, on the channels between them are floating small boats with tourists. El Gouna is called «Pearl of the Red Sea» or «Venice in the desert». The resort is private, it was built in 1991 and owned by Sawiris’ Family. Hurghada International Airport is located in 22 km to south of El Gouna, so arrive here is very easy.
