The Ponte Vecchio is a symbol of Florence and one of the most famous bridges in the world, its name translates from Italian as «The Old Bridge», it is located at the narrowest point of the Arno River. This is the oldest bridge in Florence built in 1345, it preserved its original appearance. It is also called «The Golden Bridge», this name the bridge get after the decree of Ferdinand I in 1593 about to replacing the butcher shops on the jewelry shops on this bridge, as from their was an unpleasant smell. The Ponte Vecchio represents the three-arched structure, on which was built a covered gallery called «Vasari Corridor». The corridor was built for passage from the Palazzo Vecchio to the Palazzo Pitti and named in honor the architect Giorgio Vasari.
