Durmitor is a mountain range located in the north-west of Montenegro, the highest point of the massif is Mount Bobotov-Kuk 2522 meters high. The national park of the same name was founded on the territory of Durmitor in 1952, it also includes the upper part of the Komarnitsa plateau and the canyons of the Tara, Sushitsa and Dredge. In 1980, the beautiful Durmitor National Park was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can see the glacial lakes “Mountain Eyes”, a relict pine forest, a beautiful canyon of the Tara River, the famous Black Lake surrounded by coniferous forests and much more. At the foot of the massif is the ski resort Zabljak, which is one of the most popular in Montenegro. The slopes of the ski resort are laid along the slopes of Savin Kuk, Yavorovach and Stuots. Durmitor National Park is one of the most popular and beautiful tourist places in Montenegro, there are huge opportunities for outdoor activities at any time of the year.
