Mecklenburg–Western Pomerania is a federal state within the Federal Republic of Germany, located in the very northeast of the country. It is bordered by Brandenburg to the southeast, Lower Saxony to the southwest, Schleswig-Holstein to the northwest, Poland to the east, and the Baltic Sea to the north and northeast.
