The Lamai Beach is the second largest and most popular resort region on Koh Samui after Chaweng Beach, Thailand. It is located on the east coast of the Samui Island, 8 km south of the Chaweng Beach. The length of the Lamai Beach is about 5 km, while the width reaches 40 meters. The beach is conventionally divided into three parts: Central Lamai, South Lamai, and North Lamai. The Central Lamai is the most popular and usually there are a lot of tourists. The depth begins about 5 meters from the surf, thanks to which mostly strong waves on the beach. The Baobab Restaurant is located right on the Lamai Beach near the Ammatara Pura Pool Villa boutique resort and well known for its French, Thai, and Mediterranean cuisines.
