The Bang Makham Beach is located on the northwestern coast of Koh Samui, north of the small town of Nathon, and stretches along the coast of the Gulf of Thailand for 3 km. It has fine sand of a yellowish tint, during high tides it is completely covered with water, and at low tide the water is leaving for 2-3 km. The Bang Makham Beach is one of the least crowded beaches on the island, here is not restaurants, cafes or hotels. Near the beach passes Koh Samui Ring Road, which encircles almost the entire island and connects the main districts of Koh Samui: Nathon, Maenam, Bophut, Lamai and Chaweng. The Bang Makham Beach overlooks the islands of Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park, as well as you can watch the sunsets over the sea here. To the north of the Bang Makham Beach, on the most northwestern tip of the island of Samui, is the small scenic Laem Yai Beach.
