Sanremo is the largest city in the province of Imperia, Liguria, Italy, and a popular seaside resort on the Italian Riviera. It is located on the coast of the Ligurian Sea in the province of Imperia, Liguria, in northwestern Italy, 24 kilometers (15 miles) east of the border with French and 150 kilometers (93 miles) southwest of Genoa. The climate in Sanremo is Mediterranean, characterized by warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Most of the rainfall occurs in the autumn and winter months, especially from October to March. Summers are generally dry with minimal rainfall. The hottest months of the year are July and August, with an average temperature of +24°C (75°F). The temperature often reaches +28°C (82°F), but extreme heat is rare in Sanremo.
