Zichron Yaakov (Hebrew: ืึดืึฐืจืึนื ืึทืขึฒืงึนื) is a captivating hillside town in the Haifa District and one of the earliest Jewish settlements in modern Israel. Founded in 1882 by Romanian and Russian pioneers, its name honors Baron Edmond James de Rothschild’s father, Jacob (Yaakov) Mayer de Rothschild.
The town’s heart and soul is Hameyasdim Street (Founders’ Street), a beautifully preserved pedestrian thoroughfare lined with historic stone buildings that now house boutique galleries, charming cafes, and unique shops.
