About Boracay
Boracay is a small tropical island (just 7 km long) in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines, often called the country’s crown jewel of beach tourism. Famous for its powdery white sand that never gets hot and crystal-clear water in 50 shades of blue, it consistently ranks among the world’s best beaches by TripAdvisor, Condé Nast Traveler, and Travel + Leisure.
Once a quiet backpacker paradise in the 1980s, Boracay exploded in popularity and by 2012 welcomed over 1.5 million visitors yearly. A six-month closure in 2018 for environmental rehabilitation cleaned up the island, limited construction, and introduced strict rules — today Boracay is greener, cleaner, and more beautiful than ever while keeping its legendary party vibe. With a permanent population of only about 35,000, it feels like a true island escape yet offers everything from luxury resorts to budget hostels. English is everywhere, the nightlife is world-famous, and fresh seafood and tropical cocktails are served right on the sand.
Climate in Boracay
Boracay enjoys a tropical climate with two distinct seasons:
- Dry season (November – May) – perfect weather: 25–32 °C (77–90 °F), calm seas, low humidity, almost no rain. Peak months are December to April.
- Wet season (June – October) – still warm and beautiful, short afternoon showers, occasional stronger wind (great for kitesurfing on Bulabog side). Typhoons rarely hit directly.
Water temperature stays 27–30 °C all year — ideal for swimming every single day.
