Pietrasanta is a small, picturesque town in the province of Lucca in northern Tuscany, in the northwestern part of Central Italy. It is located between the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea, just one kilometer (0.62 miles) from the Tuscan coast. The town’s proximity to the famous Carrara marble quarries, its well-preserved medieval architecture, and numerous Renaissance-era landmarks make it a popular tourist destination in Italy. Pietrasanta has a population of around 24,500 people and covers an area of 41 square kilometers (16 square miles).
