Rimini is a city, an important seaport, and the largest resort on the Adriatic coast of Italy. It is known for its beautiful historic center with narrow cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, charming squares, vibrant nightlife, and extensive sandy beaches that stretch along the Adriatic coast for many tens of kilometers.

Rimini is located in the Emilia-Romagna region, on the shores of the Adriatic Sea on the eastern coast of Italy, about 280 kilometers (174 miles) south of Venice and 121 kilometers (75 miles) southeast of Bologna, the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region. Nearby is San Marino (officially the Republic of San Marino), one of the smallest countries in the world, surrounded entirely by Italian territory. This proximity attracts even more tourists to Rimini. The city has a population of approximately 150,600 people and covers an area of 136 square kilometers (52.5 square miles).
