The live webcam shows the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo, Italy.
The Ariston Theatre is Italy’s most renowned theater and cinema, widely recognized as the venue for the country’s most popular festivals and performances. Located on Via Giacomo Matteotti in the historic center of Sanremo, the theater rose to fame as the home of the Sanremo Music Festival, an annual event dedicated to Italian song that has been held here since 1977. Before moving to the Ariston, the festival was hosted at the Sanremo Casino. In 1990, to celebrate its 40th anniversary, the event was briefly moved to the Flower Market due to the overwhelming number of attendees.
The Ariston Theatre was founded in 1963 by Aristide Vacchino, who purchased the land and spent nearly a decade building the theater. Since then, the Ariston has become one of Sanremo’s key cultural landmarks. In addition to the Sanremo Music Festival, the theater also hosts the Oscar TV Awards and the prestigious annual Italian music award, Premio Tenco. Today, the Ariston Theatre remains one of the most prominent centers of Italy’s entertainment industry, attracting audiences with its rich history, vibrant performances, and significant cultural events.
