Puerto Naos (Spanish: Puerto Naos) is one of the most popular resorts on La Palma, one of the islands in the Canary Islands archipelago belonging to Spain. It is located in the municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane on the western coast of the island, 40 kilometers (25 miles) southwest of Santa Cruz de La Palma. Previously a small fishing village, it has been actively developing as a resort since the 1980s and has transformed into a major tourist center.
The resort is known for the largest beach on La Palma with fine black volcanic sand, stretching 500 meters (1,640 feet) in length and up to 80 meters (262 feet). Puerto Naos Beach (Playa de Puerto Naos) has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag, which is given to the world’s safest, cleanest, and best-equipped beaches. The beach is adorned with a row of tall palm trees providing natural shade.
Along the beach runs a wide, cozy promenade with restaurants, bars, and shops. The promenade, with its planted trees, features benches where visitors can relax in the shade and enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean.
