The Trevi Fountain is the largest fountain in Rome, standing 25.9 meters (85 feet) high and 49.8 meters (163 feet) wide. The fountain was built in front of the majestic Palazzo Poli in the Baroque style by architect Nicola Salvi between 1732 and 1762. It is believed that if you throw a coin into the fountain, you will return to Rome; two coins will lead to a romantic encounter; three coins will result in a marriage; four coins will bring wealth; and five coins will lead to separation. It is estimated that each year, Rome’s municipal services collect 1.4 million euros from the fountain. The Trevi Fountain has been featured in films such as Roman Holiday, La Dolce Vita, Crazy Love, and others.
