Oberursel is a town located in the district of Upper Taunus in the German federal state of Hesse. It borders with the northern outskirts of Frankfurt to the south and the city of Bad Homburg to the east. Oberursel forms a single urban area with Frankfurt am Main and can be reached from Frankfurt by subway in 5 minutes. The town has a southeast-northwest orientation, with its northern part at the foot of the Taunus Mountains. Oberursel consists mainly of half-timbered houses, and in the very center of the town is the Market Square with the old town hall, built in the 15th century.
