Sottomarina is a popular seaside resort in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. It is located on a narrow, elongated island between the Adriatic Sea and the Venetian Lagoon, 31 kilometers (19.3 miles) south of Venice. To the west of Sottomarina lies the center of the picturesque town of Chioggia, often referred to as “Little Venice” due to its canals. Chioggia is connected to Sottomarina by the Ponte Translagunare bridge. It is only a one-kilometer (0.62 miles) walk from Sottomarina to Chioggia.

Along the entire Adriatic coast of Sottomarina stretches a wide and long sandy beach, well-equipped with various amenities, including rental umbrellas and sunbeds, changing cabins, showers, and toilets. The beach is lined with numerous restaurants, cafes, nightclubs, as well as attractions for children and adults, amusement parks, volleyball courts, and swimming pools. Sottomarina is very popular with surfers and windsurfers due to the constant and fairly strong winds and high waves.
