The Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua (Italian: Basilica Pontificia di Sant’Antonio di Padova) is a Catholic basilica dedicated to Saint Anthony, located in the historic center of Padua in northeastern Italy. It is the largest church in the city and a significant architectural monument. Construction of the basilica began a year after the saint’s death on the site of a former monastery where Saint Anthony had lived.

The building process lasted for 78 years, from 1232 to 1310. Saint Anthony, according to his wishes, was buried in the small church of Santa Maria Mater Domini, built in the 12th century which was later incorporated into the basilica as the Chapel of the Dark Madonna (Italian: Cappella della Madonna Mora). Today, the church is owned and administered by the Vatican and serves as the principal center for the veneration of Saint Anthony of Padua.
