La Orotava is a historic and picturesque town in the northern part of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean belonging to Spain. The town is situated in the lush, fertile Orotava Valley, neighboring the popular resort town of Puerto de la Cruz, 2 km from the Atlantic coast and 35 km from the provincial capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
