Castelldefels is a small resort town in Spain, located on the Mediterranean coast in the province of Barcelona within the autonomous community of Catalonia, 24 kilometers (15 miles) southwest of Barcelona. Today, the town has a population of about 63,000 residents and covers an area of 12.87 square kilometers (about 5 square miles). The resort features a wide sandy beach stretching over 5 kilometers (about 3.1 miles) along the entire coastline.
The beach is equipped with numerous amenities, including the rental of sun loungers and beach umbrellas, showers, changing rooms, restrooms, children’s and sports playgrounds. The beach also houses the Garbí windsurfing school and the sports clubs Club Marítim de Castelldefels and Club Nàutic. Lifeguards are on duty to ensure safety. Wooden walkways are laid across the beach for convenient movement on the sand. Nearby is the Garraf Natural Park and Port Ginesta, from which you can easily embark on a sea cruise or rent a yacht.
