Vernazzola Beach is one of the largest and most picturesque beaches in Genoa, located in the Liguria region of northwestern Italy. The beach is situated in a scenic crescent-shaped bay of the Ligurian Sea, in the Boccadasse neighborhood, about 5 kilometers (3 miles) east of city center of Genoa. The beach is covered with gray pebbles and is surrounded by charming old buildings. During the tourist season, visitors can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas, as well as enjoy various water activities. Vernazzola Beach is extremely popular with tourists visiting Genoa, so it is usually quite crowded.
