Bruges (Dutch: Brugge) is a city and the administrative center of the province of West Flanders in Belgium. It is located in the northwestern part of the country, approximately 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) from the North Sea coast and about 41 kilometers (25.5 miles) northwest of Ghent, the second-largest city in the country. Bruges is considered one of the most picturesque cities in Europe, renowned for its rich historical heritage and abundance of architectural landmarks.
