The Collserola Tower (Catalan: Serra de Collserola) is an outstanding telecommunications and observation tower and one of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona, Catalonia. It is located on Mount Tibidabo on the eastern edge of Barcelona. The tower was designed by the renowned British architect Norman Foster to provide high-quality radio and television transmission for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Its construction took place from 1990 to 1992.
The Collserola Tower stands at a height of 288 meters (945 feet), making it the tallest structure in Barcelona and among the top 50 tallest telecommunications towers in the world. The tower has 13 floors and an observation deck at an elevation of 800 meters (2,625 feet) above sea level, which includes the height of Mount Tibidabo (512 meters or 1,680 feet) and the tower itself (288 meters or 945 feet). The weight of the Collserola Tower reaches 3,000 tons. The observation deck offers a magnificent panoramic view of Barcelona and its surroundings, with a 360-degree radius of up to 70 kilometers (43 miles) on clear, sunny days!
