Hermigua is a small picturesque town in the northern part of La Gomera, situated in a lush, fertile valley stretching to the Atlantic Ocean. Hermigua is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, including green landscapes, mountain peaks, and breathtaking coastal views. One of the main attractions of the town is El Pescante, the remnants of an old loading platform marked today by four concrete columns. This area is also known for its natural sea pool, which, despite its scenic beauty, requires caution due to strong waves.

The coastal area of Hermigua includes several well-known and popular beaches, such as Playa de Hermigua and Playa de la Caleta. Hermigua is home to the parish church Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, built in the 1920s, situated in a picturesque location in the valley. The town also houses the Ethnographic Museum of Los Telares, which showcases traditional crafts such as weaving looms, pottery, and old mill wheels. The scenic landscapes surrounding the town make it an excellent spot for hiking and nature walks.
