Valluga Mountain is one of the most prominent peaks in the Arlberg region of the Austrian Alps. It lies on the border between the federal states of Tyrol and Vorarlberg, approximately 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) north of the village and ski resort of St. Christoph, and about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) northwest of the popular ski destination St. Anton am Arlberg. Valluga serves not only as a significant geographical landmark but also as a major tourist attraction, drawing in mountaineers, skiers, and lovers of sweeping alpine views.
The mountain reaches an elevation of 2,809 meters (9,215 feet) above sea level. From its summit, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panorama spanning five countries: Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Italy. Access to the summit is available via two aerial cable cars: Vallugabahn I and Vallugabahn II. For experienced hikers and climbers, several ascent routes are available, including trails from Ulmer Hütte and Stuttgarter Hütte. Reaching the peak of Valluga requires solid physical conditioning and prior mountaineering experience.
