Cadaqués is a small town in the province of Girona, within the autonomous community of Catalonia in northeastern Spain. It is located on the shore of a small bay of the Mediterranean Sea, 16 km (10 miles) northeast of the town of Roses and 75 km (47 miles) northeast of Girona. Its area is 26 km² (10 square miles), and it has a population of about 2,600 people.
Cadaqués is a charming resort town with beaches, its own attractions, and interesting places to spend time. On the shore of the bay in the center of the village is the main beach Platja Gran (Catalan: Platja Gran), covered with dark sand mixed with pebbles. Along the beach runs a promenade with cafes and restaurants. Near the main beach is the Mirador de Cadaqués (Catalan: Mirador de Cadaqués) viewpoint, which offers a beautiful view of the entire town of Cadaqués and the Mediterranean Sea from above.
