The Olympic Stadium (German: Olympiastadion) is a sports stadium at Olympiapark in Berlin, located in the Westend district of the capital of Germany. It was opened on August 1, 1936 and In 1936, it hosted the opening ceremony of the 1936 Summer Olympics (German: Olympische Sommerspiele 1936), which was broadcast on television for the first time in the world. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany in 1990, the Olympic Stadium has become one of the country’s main sports centers. It hosted major national and international soccer tournaments, as well as the German Cup finals.
