Lordi Square is the main square of Rovaniemi and is located in the very center of the city. It is named after the local rock band Lordi, which won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006. Until 2006, the main square was called Sampo. The square is home to the large Sampokeskus Shopping Centre, a park, and a monument with the palm prints of the members of the band Lordi.
