Schmittenhöhe is a scenic peak with an elevation of 1,965 meters (6,447 feet), located in the federal state of Salzburg, Austria. It lies near the town of Zell am See, approximately 86 kilometers (53 miles) south of Salzburg and 140 kilometers (87 miles) east of Innsbruck. Thanks to its unique location and wide variety of recreational opportunities, Schmittenhöhe is a popular destination for both winter and summer activities. The mountain rises above the sparkling Lake Zell (Zeller See) and offers panoramic views of over 30 peaks that exceed 3,000 meters (9,800 feet) in height, including the majestic High Tauern range. Covered in dense forest, its slopes are home to around 77 kilometers (48 miles) of well-groomed ski runs of varying difficulty levels.

The climate on Schmittenhöhe is alpine, with cold, snowy winters and cool summers.
