Mogan Beach (Spanish: Playa de Mogan) is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Gran Canaria, located in the picturesque seaside village of Puerto de Mogan on the southwest coast of the island. It is situated in a small semicircular bay of the Atlantic Ocean right next to the marina and stretches for 200 meters.
The beach is covered with fine golden sand and is well-protected from strong waves by breakwaters, making it an ideal spot for swimming in calm waters. The beach is equipped with sun loungers, umbrellas, changing cabins, showers, and toilets. Nearby, there are numerous beach restaurants and cafes with stunning ocean views, offering a variety of local and international dishes.
In the past, Puerto de Mogan was a typical fishing village, and in the 1980s, it began developing as a seaside resort. With its beautiful canals, bridges, and Italian-style buildings, Puerto de Mogan is often called ‘Little Venice’ or ‘Canary Venice’. It features a modern marina and a well-developed tourist infrastructure. The high season on Gran Canaria lasts from June to October, and the best time to visit the Canary Islands is considered to be September and October, when humidity is low and temperatures are moderate.
