Andorra Webcam, Grandvalira Ski Resort, El Tarter Sector
The real-time webcam shows the El Tarter sector of the Grandvalira ski resort in Andorra.
Grandvalira is the largest ski resort in Andorra and the entire Pyrenees. It unites seven sectors with a total of approximately 134 miles (215 km) of slopes and elevations reaching up to 8,660 feet (2,640 meters). All areas are connected by a unified lift system, allowing skiers to move freely throughout the resort. The El Tarter sector is located almost in the center of Grandvalira, between Soldeu and Canillo, at elevations ranging from approximately 5,610 to 8,660 feet (1,710 to 2,640 meters), and is considered one of the most convenient and versatile areas of the resort.
El Tarter is especially popular among intermediate and advanced skiers, as well as freestyle enthusiasts. It features many long red runs, several challenging black descents, and the famous Àliga run, which received FIS certification for downhill skiing in 2013 and has hosted World Cup alpine skiing events (first in 2016), as well as World Cup finals in 2019 and 2023. Thanks to its central location, it is easy to reach Soldeu, Grau Roig, and Pas de la Casa from here, making the sector a popular base for skiing across all of Grandvalira.
The main highlight of El Tarter is Snowpark El Tarter, the largest snowpark in Andorra, featuring the longest line of modules (kickers, rails, boxes) in the entire Pyrenees and one of the longest in Europe. At the same time, the sector is also family-friendly: near the base station are learning slopes, the Bababoom Circus children’s area (a specially designed trail created with children’s height in mind), and ski schools. Compared to Pas de la Casa, El Tarter is quieter and less noisy, yet the infrastructure remains highly developed.
The village of El Tarter itself offers hotels, apartments, restaurants, and rental shops located right by the lifts. Most accommodations are within immediate proximity to the lifts, providing convenient access to the slopes. After skiing, visitors often head to L’Abarset — Andorra’s most famous après-ski bar and club, featuring concerts and parties. Thanks to its combination of quality slopes, convenient location, and lively atmosphere, El Tarter is considered one of the best sectors of Grandvalira for both lodging and skiing.
