Trapani is a city and the capital of the province of Trapani on the island of Sicily. It is located on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea (part of the Mediterranean) in the northwestern part of the island. Trapani is an important seaport with ferries departing to the nearby Egadi Islands. With a population of around 70,000 people and covering an area of 272 square kilometers, Trapani remains a compact and charming city that is easy to explore on foot.
