Mondello is a resort district of Palermo, the largest city and administrative center of the Sicily region in southern Italy. Mondello is known for its magnificent sandy beaches, warm Mediterranean climate, unique cuisine, well-developed infrastructure, and beautiful nature. The district is located on the shores of Mondello Bay in the Tyrrhenian Sea on the northwest coast of Sicily, between Mount Pellegrino and the Capo Gallo Reserve, 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) north of downtown Palermo.

Mondello Beach (Spiaggia di Mondello) is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily and all of Italy. It is covered with fine golden sand, and its length is about 1.5 kilometers (0.93 miles). The beach has all the necessary infrastructure: umbrella and lounge chair rentals, a volleyball court, and a lifeguard station.

The main attractions in Mondello include the old fishing port, the villa Antico Stabilimento Balneare, now home to the restaurant “Alle Terrazze,” 15th-century watchtowers, the Addaura Cave (Grotta dell’Addaura), Mount Pellegrino, and the Capo Gallo Nature Reserve (Riserva Naturale di Capo Gallo) with picturesque grottoes and numerous species of animals and birds. You can reach Mondello from Palermo by bus no. 806. The webcam shows a panorama of the Mondello district of Palermo, with Mount Pellegrino to the right and the Capo Gallo Nature Reserve to the left.
