The Maspalomas Lighthouse (Spanish: Faro de Maspalomas) is one of the main attractions and a symbol of the resort town of Maspalomas on the southern tip of Gran Canaria, one of the Canary Islands. It is located at the southern end of Gran Canaria near Playa de Maspalomas beach and the famous Maspalomas Dunes, which are a unique nature reserve. Construction of the lighthouse began in 1884 based on a design by engineer Juan de León y Castillo. On February 1, 1890, the lighthouse was put into operation and continues to function to this day, ensuring safe navigation between Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

The height of the Maspalomas Lighthouse is 56 meters (184 feet), making it one of the tallest lighthouses in the Canary Islands. Due to its location at 60 meters (197 feet) above sea level, its light can be seen from more than 35 kilometers (19 nautical miles) away. Today, the Maspalomas Lighthouse is not only a navigational aid but also a historical and architectural monument on Gran Canaria, attracting a large number of tourists from around the world. Nearby, there are luxurious hotels and resort complexes, restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops.
