Piazza IV Novembre is the main square of Perugia, located in the heart of the city’s historic center. The square boasts several impressive architectural and historical landmarks, including the Palazzo dei Priori and the Cathedral of San Lorenzo (Italian: Cattedrale di San Lorenzo), which was built on the foundation of a 9th-century church. The cathedral’s construction spanned from 1345 to 1490, and its façade is entirely clad in pink marble. At the center of the square stands the Fontana Maggiore (Main Fountain).
Perugia is the largest city and the administrative center of the Umbria region, covering an area of 449.51 square kilometers (173.56 square miles) and home to over 166,000 residents.
