Livigno is a popular ski resort in northern Italy, located at an elevation of 1,816 meters (5,958 feet) above sea level in the Lombardy region, near the border with Switzerland, 37 km (23 miles) northwest of the town of Bormio, and 200 km (124 miles) northeast of Milan. It is one of the newest ski resorts in the country, with the ski season running from early December to mid-March.

Livigno offers 76 ski slopes of varying difficulty levels: 27 easy “green” slopes, 37 challenging “red” slopes, and 12 very challenging “black” slopes. The slopes are serviced by more than 31 cable cars, including chairlifts, drag lifts, and gondola lifts.

In the summer, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding are very popular. The beautiful nature surrounding Livigno attracts many tourists who want to enjoy the local mountain scenery. The village itself has plenty of hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants.
