The city is located on the Atlantic coast in the state of Santa Catarina in southeastern Brazil, 16 km south of Itajai City and 510 km northeast of Porto Alegre. Balneario Camboriu is known for a lot of beaches, considered one of the best in Brazil. The city has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and warm winters. The average summer temperature from December to February is + 25 °C, and often rises to + 30 °C – + 35 °C. The average temperature in winter from June to August is about + 15 °C, in the morning hours it can drop to + 4 °C and even up to 0 °C. Rainfall in the city is a lot during the all year, which is evenly distributed throughout the year. The best time for a beach holiday in Balneario Camboriu is February and March, when the water in the Atlantic Ocean warms up to + 25 °C.
