Balneário Camboriu is one of the most popular and famous beach resorts in Brazil, located on the Atlantic coast in the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, 84 km north of the state capital Florianopolis. Balneario Camboriu was founded on July 20, 1964 and is the youngest city in Brazil. Balneario Camboriu was originally built as a resort with a developed tourist infrastructure, the city is also called “Brazilian Dubai”. Balneario Camboriu was built up many skyscrapers which beautifully frame the city’s Atlantic coast. A long main beach stretches along the entire coastline of Balneario Camboriu and attracting a large number of tourists from all Latin America. The Central Beach about 9 km long, has fine white sand and all the necessary infrastructure. The oceanic boulevard is called Avenida Atlantica stretches along the all city’s coast with many restaurants, bars and cafes. Balneario Camboriu is famous for the unique cable car connecting the Central Beach with the Laranjeiras Beach (Portuguese: Praia das Laranjeiras). The city is served by the Navegantes–Ministro Victor Konder International Airport (IATA: NVT, ICAO: SBNF), located in the neighbouring town of Navegantes, 33 km north of Balneario Camboriu.
