The Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) is an astronomical observatory located at an altitude of 2,207 m on Cerro Tololo mountain in the Coquimbo Region of northern Chile, 80 km east of the city of La Serena and 100 km south of the observatory of La Silla. The astronomical observatory is a whole complex of astronomical telescopes and instruments, the main of which are the 4.1-meter SOAR Telescope and the 4-meter Víctor Blanco Telescope.
