Ponta Preta Beach is a sandy beach located northwest of Santa Maria on the southern coast of Sal Island, Cape Verde. It is popular with professional surfers and windsurfers from around the world. The beach spans roughly 2 km and is characterized by powerful waves that can reach up to 4 meters in height. The Dune of Sal, at the southern end of the beach, is considered one of the islandβs main natural attractions.
