Live Webcam Lotus Pond, Kaohsiung
The overview live webcam showing the Lotus Pond in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
Lotus Lake (Chinese: 蓮池潭) is a large water pond in Zuoying District (Chinese: 左營區) in the northern part of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. It is the tourist attraction and one of the most beautiful places in the city. Its shores are lined with many green parks and recreational facilities, and on its water surface can be seen countless lotuses, from which the lake gets its name. In Buddhism, the lotus plays a huge role and is a symbol of purity.
On the southwest shore of the lake is a large Tiger and Dragon Temple built in 1976. Opposite the temple are the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. Both pagodas are identical in appearance and have seven levels. Next to them are huge colorful figures of the Dragon and Tiger. A winding bridge symbolizing the water surface of the lake leads to the pagodas. You can enter the pagodas through the mouth of the dragon or the mouth of the tiger.
The pagodas offer an aerial view of the Lotus Lake and the surrounding green parks. There are also two other pagodas on the shore of the lake: Spring Pagoda and Autumn Pagoda. Through this overview webcam, you can see almost the whole Lotus Lake and its main attraction – the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.
