Lotus Pond Live Webcam, Kaohsiung
The overview live webcam shows the Lotus Pond in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
Lotus Pond (Chinese: 蓮池潭), located in Zuoying District (Chinese: 左營區) in northern Kaohsiung, is a large lake and a famous tourist attraction, considered one of the most beautiful places in the city. Its shores are lined with green parks and recreational facilities, and countless lotus flowers cover its surface, giving the lake its name. In Buddhism, the lotus is a sacred symbol of purity.
On the southwestern shore stands the Tiger and Dragon Pagodas, built in 1976. The twin pagodas are identical in appearance, each seven stories tall, and are flanked by large, colorful statues of a dragon and a tiger. A winding bridge, symbolizing the surface of the lake, leads to the pagodas. Visitors can enter through the mouth of the dragon or the mouth of the tiger.
From the top, the pagodas offer panoramic views of Lotus Pond and the surrounding parks. There are also two other notable pagodas along the shore: the Spring Pagoda and the Autumn Pagoda. Through this overview webcam, you can enjoy nearly the entire Lotus Pond and its most famous landmark — the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.
