Dashi District, Chinese: 大溪區, is an old district in the eastern part of Taoyuan City in Taiwan, considered one of the best tourist destinations in the Republic of China, known for its unique cuisine and scenic green parks. The district covers an area of 105 square kilometers and is home to approximately 94,000 residents. Taoyuan City is the 5th largest city in Taiwan and is located in the northwest of the island, 24 km southwest of Xinbe (or New Taipei) and 44 km southeast of Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. The city covers an area of 1,221 square kilometers and is home to about 2.4 million people.
