The Xindian River (Chinese: 新店溪) is a small river flowing in the northwest of the island of Taiwan, forming the border between New Taipei City and Taipei City (the capital of the Republic of China).The Xindian River is the main source of drinking water in Taipei City, providing drinking water for more than 4 million residents of the capital of Taiwan. The banks of the river are home to green city parks, children’s playgrounds, sports fields, volleyball and soccer courts, and walking paths.
