Dhonakulhi Island is located in Haa Alifu Atoll in the northern Maldives, approximately 290 km north of Malé, the Maldivian capital. The island covers an area of 297,000 m² (about 73 acres), featuring over 1 km of pristine white sandy beaches on both sides. It is surrounded by a turquoise lagoon with a picturesque coral reef, which shields the island from strong waves and creates ideal conditions for diving and snorkeling. The surrounding waters are rich in marine life, including colorful coral reefs, diverse fish species, sea turtles, and even dolphins.

Dhonakulhi remained uninhabited and untouched until recently, when it was developed into the luxury Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa. The resort boasts the Maldives’ first full private sea jetty, highlighting its exclusive location and amenities for yacht owners. Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa offers 103 luxury villas, including overwater and beachfront options, attracting travelers seeking privacy and high-end service. Guests can enjoy spa treatments, a wide range of activities such as diving and snorkeling, and gourmet dining with international cuisine.

The island’s landscape is adorned with coconut palms and blooming bougainvillea, creating a harmonious blend of nature and luxury. The resort also offers excursions to nearby uninhabited islands and local fishing villages. Dhonakulhi Island is reachable via a 50-minute domestic flight from Malé to Hanimaadhoo Airport, followed by a 15-minute speedboat transfer, or directly by a 65-minute seaplane flight. Climate: The island has a tropical climate with warm temperatures ranging from 27°C to 32°C (81–90°F) year-round. The best time to visit is during the dry season from November to April, offering abundant sunshine and calm seas.
