Minato is one of Tokyo’s 23 special wards, located along Tokyo Bay, south of the city’s central Chiyoda district. About 261,000 people live in Minato, out of nearly 14 million residents in the greater Tokyo area. The ward is home to 49 embassies and diplomatic missions, including those of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and the United States. Minato also hosts some of Tokyo’s tallest skyscrapers and serves as the headquarters for several of Japan’s largest corporations.

Key attractions in Minato include Shiba Park with Tokyo Tower, Akasaka Palace and Togu Palace, the National Art Center, Atago Shrine, and more. This webcam is located on Odaiba, a large artificial island in Tokyo Bay that is part of Minato Ward. Odaiba is connected to central Tokyo by the 570-meter-long Rainbow Bridge, completed in 1993. Each night, the bridge is illuminated in red, white, and green lights, giving it its iconic name, the ‘Rainbow Bridge.
