The Aktau Embankment stretches along the Caspian Sea and is one of the city’s main attractions. It is situated in the central part of Aktau, across from the 15th microdistrict, connecting residential neighborhoods, cultural sites, and beaches. This location is ideal for walks, sports, and leisure activities.
Today, the Aktau Embankment is an important tourist destination that contributes to the city’s economic development. The area features cafes, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment centers, and during the summer months, it attracts many tourists and locals with festivals and cultural events.
The embankment was inaugurated in 2013 in celebration of Kazakhstan’s First President Day. It is paved with cobblestones, wide and extensive. The length of the embankment is approximately 5 kilometers, and its width reaches up to 30 meters in certain sections. At night, it is well-lit with beautiful lamps, and benches and gazebos are installed for visitors’ comfort. There are also children’s play areas and sports facilities.
Trees, shrubs, and flowers are planted along the entire promenade, making walks more pleasant. In the evenings, visitors can enjoy stunning sunsets over the Caspian Sea. Among its main attractions are the War Veteran Monument, dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, and the Amphitheater located in the central and widest part of the embankment.
