Choeng Mon Beach is one of the most scenic and cozy beaches on the island’s northeastern coast. It is located about 6 km (around a 15-minute drive) southwest of Samui International Airport and just 7 km from the popular Chaweng Beach. The beach sits in a small bay, which keeps the sea calm and minimizes waves. Choeng Mon stretches for about 1 km, with its width varying depending on the tides. It is known for its soft golden sand, peaceful atmosphere, and clear water.

Choeng Mon Beach offers well-developed yet uncrowded infrastructure. You’ll find numerous restaurants and cafés serving Thai and international cuisine, along with hotels, private villas, and upscale resorts. More affordable bungalows and guesthouses are also available. Along the beachfront, many salons offer traditional Thai massage, aromatherapy treatments, and facial procedures. Sun loungers, umbrellas, and equipment for water sports can be rented directly on the beach. Kayaking and snorkeling are especially popular here, and thanks to the shallow water, Choeng Mon is ideal for families with children and those learning to swim.

Koh Samui has a tropical climate with warm temperatures year-round, ranging from 25°C to 32°C (77°F to 90°F). The dry season lasts from December to April, making this the best time to visit the beach. The sea remains warm and great for swimming throughout the year, with an average water temperature of about 28°C (82°F). Nearby attractions include the Big Buddha statue, located 4 km from the beach, as well as the charming Fisherman’s Village in Bo Phut.
