Tokyo Tower is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a symbol of the Japanese capital. It is located in the Minato district, right in the heart of Tokyo, not far from the Imperial Palace. Standing 332.6 meters tall, it ranks as the 23rd tallest TV tower in the world. Tokyo Tower is divided into six levels and resembles the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris. Its lattice structure is painted orange and white to comply with aviation safety regulations.
Tokyo Tower was completed in 1958 to broadcast television and radio signals across Tokyo and the greater Kanto region. More than 2.5 million visitors come here each year. Beneath the tower is a four-story building that houses restaurants, shops, and museums. The tower features two observation decks—one at 145 meters and another at 250 meters above sea level. From here, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Tokyo, Tokyo Bay on the Pacific Ocean, and even the peak of Mount Fuji.
