The Park of Glory is a memorial park dedicated to the Abkhaz soldiers who died in the 1992–1993 Georgian–Abkhaz War. It is located along Severnaya Street in the central part of Gagra and is considered one of the city’s largest and most beautiful parks. At its center stands the Independence Memorial, built in honor of Abkhazia’s victory in the war. The monument is a 30-meter-tall concrete stele topped with a gilded sphere and mounted on a multi-tiered pedestal. At the base of the memorial are large marble slabs engraved with the names of fallen Abkhaz soldiers.
The Park of Glory is one of the most picturesque spots in Gagra, featuring a pedestrian alley, benches, flowerbeds, and lush tropical vegetation. From here, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the mountain peaks of the Gagra Range. Nearby are a popular amusement park with a Ferris wheel, the Black Sea promenade, and long pebble beaches. The area is also surrounded by numerous cafés, bars, restaurants, and hotels.
